The task of installing the batteries is not a difficult one, you should refer to your manual for the full method, once you have them in the system it will fully charge them, even though they will come out to you almost charged it will still need to complete this task, during this interim period you should note that your system will not be able to offer you its full runtime protection until it has finished this task, while it's not always convenient it would be best to run without load to start so it can fully reset itself to the new battery energy level
It may be reasonable to expect two to five years from your new batteries in this UPS, this will however will vary depending on the conditions or storage and overall use, make sure it has good ventilation, the batteries will get hot in general use, the hotter they are the shorter the life span, do not pile books on top of it, try and keep the load below 40% if you can, while it may well be capable of more it will shorten the battery life
These are valve regulated sealed lead acid batteries and will not leak so there is no problem installing in tower or rack systems as they can be fitted on their side, both AGM and VRLA, they are not-hazardous so safe for busy data centres as well of course as the home office
