This battery module fits several APC Power stack 1U systems, some of which are listed here. The pack contains two rechargeable sealed lead batteries. They are valve regulated, VRLA, and AGM, perfectly safe and suitable to be mounted on their side in such small factor UPS systems. As such, you should expect a life span of between three to five years in such an installation. This may depend on adequate ventilation in a hot communications data room.

I know that it may not be convenient, but the best advice after fitting would be to allow the system to run up without any load to start to give the batteries a chance to reset to the system properly. If possible, overnight would be ideal.
