Absorbed glass mat and valve regulated batteries are lead acid VRLA & AGM, they are safe to use because they are not spillable and not hazardous so suitable for indoor and outdoor use as well as public transport, roads and air travel, they need no maintenance but do need to be kept charged, in normal use we would suggest the battery pack is charged after every use and not to be allowed to si around in a discharged state, this will only shorten the expected life span.
