Charge your new Hoveround batteries fully when you receive them and for their first use. Charge them after every use, and do not allow them to sit discharged for longer than necessary. If you are not using the mobility device for long periods, then a top-up charge every four weeks will help prolong battery life. It will take several uses of the mobility device and related charging before it can accept a full-capacity charge. This is quite a normal process that all rechargeable batteries go through.

The Hoveround Mobility range has been around for over twenty-five years and produces a number of associated equipment, such as scooters, powered wheelchairs, stairlifts, bed and bathroom devices, and even vehicle power chair lifts, most of which will require new batteries over time and are user-replaceable.

AGMs are absorbed glass-mat batteries. They combine the technology with valve-regulated lead acid or VRLA to produce a safe-to-use sealed battery that will not leak and is recommended by mobility scooter manufacturers. They can be used indoors and outdoors because they will not leak, even if a travel scooter is put in the boot of a car on its side.
