If they were 50Ah batteries and you had a 12A charger, then putting 25Ah back into the battery would take just over 2 hours. A 5A charger for the same job would take five hours, so it is relative.
Another question is what size charger? This is probably very related to the previous one. The size of the charger will directly relate to the length of time it takes to charge the batteries. A reasonable guide is a 2- or 3-amp-hour charger, which is the minimum required for batteries up to 22Ah. Then raise the size of the charger as you go up the size of the batteries, there is no one correct answer, it depends on factors such as how soon you will require them to be ready and so on.
Probably the most critical area when it comes to mobility and wheelchair battery chargers is not how long to charge, but when to charge.
You should charge them as soon as you can after each use; do not let them sit in a discharged state for longer than necessary.
