A lot of electric bikes and scooters are powered with sealed lead-acid batteries. They work very well as a power plant, but over time, they will need replacing; you will find below links to batteries and battery packs to replace a great number of these. Depending on the voltage required by the motors driving the wheels, the batteries might be made up of one or more batteries, quite often run in series, but could be parallel as well to output the required voltage for your vehicle.

This kind of sealed battery does not really like being run down to far so try to regularly recharge them and never leave in a discharged state, it is far better to re-charge your new e-bike and scooter battery after every extended use than to let them sit there, this will have a beneficial effect upon your purse strings.

One question we are often asked is can I replace my lithium batteries with these cost-effective sealed lead ones, your motor probably will not mind if you use a nuclear power plant as long as it only outputs the relevant volts, whether it be 24v or 36v or what have you, the problem is the charging of the batteries as they are different chemistry so bear this in mind when making this decision.
