The Minolta camera began its journey back in 1928 in Japan. It was known as the Japanese-German camera shop. So it's not surprising that it relied on imported German technology to produce its first product, a bellows camera and some eight years later the first japan made twin-lens reflex camera, the Minoltaflex which was based on the German version called a very similar Rolleiflex. In 1950 Minolta took a leading role in developing a planetarium projector which was the first one made in Japan. Its connection to the stars did not end there, Minolta products made it on the spacecraft friendship-7 in 1962 and then again in 1960 aboard the Apollo-8 which orbited the moon. Minolta camera products which later switched to the 35MM SLR have been ever present throughout the world into this century, perhaps a little slow in moving with the consumer demands at a price they wanted to pay, preferring quality, they merged with Konica in 2003.

Charge your new Minolta camera battery when it arrives and before using it for the first time. As in common with all rechargeable batteries it will take a few uses before its able to store a full capacity charge, this is part of the conditioning process that all rechargeable batteries will go through. If your Minolta camera battery is not being used often then a recharge every eight weeks will keep the cells in good order for later use.

You can browse though the Minolta camera batteries below, or perhaps use the serial code that is printed on your old battery in the search bar above. This is often the best way to find the batteries as its often the case a battery might be used on a number of different brands.
