Having more charge at the end of the day when you recharge them matters because the more you discharge them, the more damage you do; charging from a higher state of charge will help them last longer overall.
Unless you intend to use these batteries in a fixed device that is always connected to the mains, like an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), follow a few rules for best care. Firstly, charge fully before use, but never for more than 24 hours. Second, charge after every use, as leaving them discharged will cause damage. Lastly, if you won’t use the batteries for 8 weeks, top them up to full to help keep the cells fresh.
