When you receive your order from us your new batteries will be almost fully charged but you will still need to complete the charge before first use, there should be no need for many hours, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, while you may well be sorely tempted just to fit them and go without charging it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up in the right way before you start

it may well take a number of full charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, letting the batteries sit in a discharged state, even partially is not a good idea, as soon as you have used them put them back on charge, discharging the batteries fully will only reduce their life expectancy, it will do them no good and will cost you money in the long run, these batteries need to be kept charged, so if there is any reason where they are not be used then ensure they are charged beforehand and then every 4-weeks, but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours
