The Drive-Scout 3 and 4 (DLX) is an indoor and outdoor class-2 lightweight and compact travel power mobility scooter. One of the best features about these scooters are that they are very easy to dissemble quickly, it splits into five different parts which you then can load into a car therefore allowing you to travel around easier! The only difference between the Drive-Scout 3 and the 4 is the number of wheels, both require the same battery. The DLX version also requires this battery since the only major difference between the DLX version and the standard is a visual upgrade which you do not need any more power for.
The standard fit batteries are 12v 12ah but we also offer in the same physical size a upgraded version which has 14ah. When you bought the mobility scooter it came with either a battery box to fit the standard 12ah or a larger battery box to fit physically larger and more powerful 17ah batteries. If you have the larger box we also do an upgraded 22ah battery that will give you considerably more miles per charge than the original. For your convenience these mobility scooters are installed with a battery pack that is quick and easy to remove so you can charge the battery separately from the scooter, allowing you to have a back up pair of batteries if necessary. Replacing the batteries inside the battery pack is very simple but we recommend using your manual for detailed instructions.
Your batteries should arrive almost fully charged but looking after the batteries is very important. Before your first use you should fully charge the batteries, overnight if you must. Putting the batteries on charge after every use is very good practice and will keep them at peak condition for the longest. If a period of eight weeks pass and the batteries haven't been used it is highly recommend that you fully charge them. Never leave the batteries on charge for more than 24-hours as this can do serious damage to them. Read the information sheet that comes with your delivery for more information.
