It's a good idea to top up the electrolyte levels from time to time—particularly in heavy-use situations. These are not sealed units like AGM or GEL batteries, but they are renowned for reliability, simple recycling, and good runtime. You can however, upgrade to the GEL on our easy upgrade section.
Proper maintenance will make a big difference. Charge after every use, no matter the short run. If the vehicle is parked or will not be driven for a few weeks, just top up the charge every month to avoid deep self-discharge—one of the most common reasons for premature lead-acid battery failure.
