This offer is for a pair of compatible batteries that we have seen fitted to several larger mobility scooters and powerchairs to replace them. They are GEL type so very resistant to the everyday use that is required from them.
There are two batteries in this set unless you select otherwise.
We would always recommend replacing both batteries in a set, this is because they are connected and if you replace only one then it will soon level off to the condition of the other. This in time could prove to be a false economy and affect the warranty.
We can also AGM batteries in this size if you prefer, a link to them will be in the alternatives tab. While there is no dispute that GEL versions are better, they are more expensive and if you are not putting much stress on them it may be a way forward in certain cases.
As with all rechargeable batteries you should charge fully when they arrive and before first use. We strongly recommend that you charge after every use, it's generally when lead batteries are left in a discharged state that the damage occurs and will slowly reduce the overall life of the cells.
Although you can deep cycle GEL batteries more times than AGM it is not something you want to do if you can help it, never try to deliberately discharge them, this will only shorten the life span. If they are not being used for long periods then you must also recharge every six to eight weeks or so to keep the cells active for later use.
