These are valve regulated lead acid batteries, often more commonly called VRLA, they have the added benefit of the acid being suspended between the lead plates within a glass mat membrane, this is more commonly called AGM, what it really means is that it will not leak, and it is not-hazardous, this makes it perfect for its main use which appears to be mobility scooters.
