Your new Leoch LP12-2.6 battery replacement will be dispatched almost fully charged, but you should always charge a rechargeable battery when it arrives and is first used. If it is being used in a device that does not have a permanently connected mains charging supply built it then its best to charge after every use and every six weeks if not being used.
It can take several charges and associated use in the equipment before the cells can accept a full capacity charge; this is normal and part of the conditioning process that all rechargeable batteries undergo at the start of their life.
