After you have unpacked your new battery order from us you will note that they will have a good charge in them, regardless of this you should still complete a full charge before first use, the only time you do not need to do this is if it's going into something with its own always connected power supply, for example a alarm system, as this will do the job of charging for you, your charger will indicate to you when it has completed a charge. it will probably not take very long depending on the charger, the light will generally change to indicate its ready, make sure you do not miss the initial charge (unless as stated above), doing so may well reduce overall life expectancy.
These batteries will require no general maintenance, no topping up with fluid as it has none, they are AGM and VRLA, of course with deep cycle properties that would be required in this type of application, they are also not-hazardous so safe to use in the home or in portable devices.
