The GTS300 has a 278cc 4-valve four stroke liquid cooled single cylinder engine with automatic transmission, large for a Vespa. it has a good turn of speed with plenty of low down grunt and will return over seventy mile per gallon so economical to run and a comfortable ride quality.
Your battery is located under black rubber panel between your feet. there are four screws holding it on, undo these lift the mat and you will see your battery.
The battery is sealed type, it will need no maintenance throughout its life and will not spill. it will come out to you dry charged so will be as fresh as the day it was made, it will need activating before fitting and activation pack is supplied, you should of course check you are ordering the right battery by looking at what you already have, it will state something like TX12bs on the side, you should at any case offer it up against your old one before activating as once this is done you cannot return it.
The battery will have sufficient energy to start a normal engine, but the first charge is important so take it for a 20-minute ride afterwards. if you use your bike every day then you are already looking after the battery. if however there are extended periods that you do not use you should charge the battery every six weeks at the outside, more often if there are things like alarms. better to remove the battery so you know nothing is draining it down apart from natural self discharge.
