These batteries are generally used in engine starting situations. Replaces some of the versions that used to be wet, these ones are AGM, non-spillable and need no maintenance except of course charging which we will cover further.

The very best way to look after your new battery is to use it often. You should although you may get away with it if you are using it straight away, charge when it arrives and first use. If its not being used then also recharge every four to six weeks to keep the cells active for later use. failure to do this will bring a early demise of the ability of the battery to crank over the engine and cost you money in the long run so well worth the effort.
As stated if you are using it on a regular basis then the equipment that its installed in will be providing the life giving energy boost that it requires. If not then do not leave it on the charger for any longer than required to get a full capacity charge. Obviously this is within reason and common sense, over night will be fine. We do not really advocate the use of optimisers connected twenty four seven. They are at best a compromise as experience tells us they are often not fallible and can end up doing more harm than good. Clearly though its better than doing nothing at all.
As a AGM battery or absorbed glass mat, it will not leak. It will replace some of the wet versions that have become increasing rare.
The battery itself is mainly made of lead. This makes it a very environmentally friendly product as it can be used to make something else. But this is only true if at the end of its useful life its directed to a recycle centre, every local council will have a list of the ones closest to you. Whatever happens please ensure it does not end up in landfill as that would be a terrible waste of important resources and help save the planet we all live in. Every little helps.
