The batteries that we dispatch to you will be almost fully charged. Your UPS will complete a full charge, and this helps it reset to the new battery cell. This will, of course, mean that until the operation is finished, you will not have backup runtime protection. We know the system is probably being used urgently, but if you can, it's best to run without a load to start so it can complete the job and reset to the new energy level.
The battery cells are constructed using absorbed glass mat technology or AGM, they are also valve regulated sealed lead acid or VRLA, this is the recommended type of battery for this installation. They will not leak if mounted on the side, so they are safe to use in a UPS tower or rack-mountable configuration without fear of spillage in mission-critical applications like a hospital or busy data centre, as well as a home office.
Many UPS codes are very similar; check them carefully before ordering to ensure you get the right pack. The batteries are recyclable; more detailed information about recycling lead batteries is available via the link at the foot of this page.
