The batteries we send are almost fully charged, but the system will still want to finish the full charge. Please note that while this is happening, the system will not be able to provide the full backup runtime until it's finished. If you can, it's best to do this initial charge without any load. We know this may not be convenient in many installations, but it's the best advice; it's up to you whether you follow it.

It would not be unreasonable to expect batteries to last between 2 and 5 years in this equipment; this can, of course, be dependent on its general use. Good ventilation is important. If it's in an office, do not use it as a bookshelf. Also, do not overload with devices, if you can keep the load below 40%, while the system may be of going higher than that its working the battery cell harder which means a shorter life span.

These batteries will require no general maintenance; they are AGM and VRLA, and they are also non-hazardous. They can be used in rack-mountable or tower systems as they will not leak if mounted on the side.
