You would reasonably expect these kinds of batteries to last between two to five years in this kind of device; however, this will vary a lot depending on storage and overall use conditions. Ensure there is always good ventilation around the device. Do not block the vents, and do not use it as a shelf for files. If the batteries overheat, their lifespan shortens. If you can keep the load below 40% the batteries will last longer, while the kit is capable of more over time it will be at the expense of the life span of the cells.

The cells are constructed from absorbed glass mat or AGM; they are also valve-regulated sealed lead-acid, or VRLA. This is the recommended battery type for this installation. They will not leak if mounted on the side, so they are safe for tower- or rack-mountable configurations, with no risk of spillage in mission-critical applications or the home office.
