Replacing the batteries may sound daunting, but it is pretty simple. To access them, the seat must be removed first and held in place by a large screw knob. Once this is undone, the seat will lift (this can be very heavy so take care), and the cowling can be slid out to reveal the batteries.
The batteries are in a tray and held in place with a canvas strap, undo this and remove the batteries from the scooter, remembering where each of the wires is connected. Install the new batteries and do everything you have just done in reverse order to secure it and put the cover and seat back on.
Maintaining a correct charging regime is vital for batteries, especially regarding mobility scooters. They are the heart of your scooter and, without care, will not fulfil the job you want from them. Detailed information on charging can be found in the manual, available for download; however, the most important tips are listed here. Charge before first use and immediately after every use, charge once every six weeks if there are extended periods of not being in use, do not leave on charge for longer than required, and finally, it may take up to twenty charges for the batteries to be able to reach their total capacity.
