The batteries that you obtain from us will be almost fully charged. But you still need to charge them fully before first use. The charger has LED lights that indicate whether it is still charging. you only need to charge them until they are ready, it probably will not take very long. While you may be sorely tempted to fit them and go without charging, it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up the right way before you start.
It may take a few charges and some use in your electric vehicle before the battery can accept a full charge; this is normal. Once you have used your equipment, put the batteries back on charge. Do not let them sit in a partially discharged state any longer than absolutely necessary. Do not attempt to discharge the batteries fully; this can reduce lifespan drastically and cost you money in the long run. There may be extended periods when the batteries are not being actively used. If so, ensure they are fully charged beforehand, then recharge them every four weeks, but do not leave them on the charger for more than 24 hours at a time.
The battery type is AGM, short for absorbed glass mat construction. It is also valve-regulated, meaning it can be used in electric vehicles around the home or on the road without fear of leakage. It has deep-cycle properties, which this type of installation requires. They require no maintenance throughout their entire lifespan and are non-hazardous, so they're safe for travelling, including by air, but you should check with your airline when booking your ticket.
