This offer is for a pair of 12V 40Ah GEL batteries for mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs as an alternative to AGM. Some people prefer GEL because they can handle deeper cycles; the lead plates are held in a gelified silica solution, which is where they get their name. They are sealed. They will not spill any liquid, so they are not hazardous and are safe for use indoors as well as outside, and safe for travel, including flying, but you should, of course, check with your airline at the point of booking your flight.
The batteries will arrive almost fully charged. However, you must still charge them before use, as the first charge is always important. That's not to say the following charges aren't equally important. Charge after every use; do not try to run down the battery. Even though they can handle deeper discharges, that doesn't mean you should test them that way; doing so will only shorten life expectancy and cost you money in the long run. If you are not actively using the batteries, a top-up charge every four weeks will keep the cells fresh, but do not leave them on the charger for more than 16 hours.
