This is the shorter version of the popular 096 battery group. It is only 175mm tall. We also offer a 190mm version; choose the one that best suits your vehicle. A select few European-market cars have this shorter one, so if you are not sure, measure the height of the battery you have now. The correct size battery will fit better, making it safer; the taller one also has slightly more capacity. The link to the taller one is on the alternatives tab.
This battery pack is made for a lead-calcium mixture. This helps reduce overcharging and the subsequent gassing that can occur in these circumstances, which reduces fluid loss and extends the battery's life expectancy. The battery is sealed, so it will not require topping up to maintain it, making ownership easier.
This battery will be almost fully charged, but once you start your vehicle for the first time, take it for at least a 20-minute run or put it on a charger, as this first charge is very important. If you use your vehicle at least a few times a week, you are already doing your best to look after the battery, as long as it doesn't have other issues with its charging circuit. When they are not used, you have to be a little more concerned. If it's not being used, charge it every four weeks or so, and be diligent about any electrics that could drain the battery, such as an alarm system or immobiliser, as you never want to run it down, as this can shorten its lifespan.
