The Kymco Komfy range is packed with the features you would expect from modern mobility scooters. Advanced mobility scooters include adjustable suspension, alloy-style wheels, LED lights all round, and, as the name suggests, a quality, breathable comfort captain seat. The main difference between these two is the top speed, one is 4mph and the other 8mph.

The original batteries that would have come with these scooters would have 45ah; these batteries are 50Ah with the same physical size, so you are already upgrading for no extra cost! They are non-hazardous, non-spillable, sealed lead-acid AGM batteries that are maintenance-free, although you should still take care of them, which is fairly simple. Firstly, they should be fully charged upon delivery and before first use, but most importantly, never leave them discharged; charge after every use. Second, if you can avoid using the last 20% of the charge, the battery will last significantly longer. Lastly, if not in use, a top-up charge every four weeks will help slow the natural self-discharge.

The batteries are mainly made from lead, so they are very recyclable and therefore environmentally friendly energy storage. Please ensure that when they reach the end of life, they are sent to a recycling centre, such as your local council's facility, which would be very pleased to receive them. They can then complete the journey ahead of them and perhaps be made into something useful, maybe even another battery.
