Although the batteries we will send are nearly fully charged, the UPS will still need to complete a full service charge when installed. Until this is finished, you will not have the benefit of full runtime protection. It may not be convenient, but it's best to run the system without any load to start.
You can reasonably expect this battery to last between two and five years in this kind of device; this will, of course, depend heavily on its general use. Using the UPS system as part of the office furniture, putting boxes on it is not the best idea, it needs good ventilation, the batteries will in general use get very hot as they are working hard 24-hours a day, the more heat the shorter their life, keep an eye on the load, do not have to many devices connected, if you can keep it below 40% it will last longer, while its more than capable of going higher it will be at the expense of the battery life.
The battery type is AGM, or absorbed glass mat construction. They are also valve-regulated, meaning they can be used in tower- or rack-mounted UPS systems without fear of leakage. They will require no maintenance throughout their entire lifespan and are non-hazardous, so they are safe for use in busy data centres and, of course, the home office.
