Battery set replacement for Green-Power GP500-RED, ZT500 and BL800 electric mobility scooters, set of 4x 12v-22Ah rechargeable lead-acid batteries to create 48v.

Green Power manufactures a collection of unique and powerful electric mobility scooters. The sets listed on this page all use a total of four 12-volt, 22-amp batteries connected together to create 48 volts. These are stored underneath the seat and can be accessed and exchanged there. They are all high-spec and come with a wide range of optional features, such as a 1000W motor and a cane holder, that could really make your machine unique and special. One of these options is to have either lead-acid or lithium batteries. The set of batteries on this page replaces the lead-acid version with a higher ampere-hour rating of 22Ah, up from the original 20Ah, giving you a better battery and a longer range.

The batteries that will be supplied are high quality. Deep-cycle, non-hazardous, and non-spillable. Sealed lead AGM batteries, and although they are classed as maintenance-free, they still require a healthy charging regime, which can be achieved by following a few simple steps. First, fully charge them all upon delivery and before first use. However, more importantly, they should never be put away in a discharged state. Fully charge after every use, and try not to use the last 20% if possible. If the mobility scooter is going to be stored without use for long periods, then a top-up charge every four weeks will help slow down the natural discharge rate

These batteries are mainly constructed from lead (Pb), which is recyclable; ensure they reach a recycling centre at the end of their useful life.

Thanks for the prompt delivery. Fitted next day struggled with weight took me over 2 hours to fit which i was pleased with considering l suffer from Parkinsons. Thank James for his help and advice im sure without it, l would have taken a lot longer. Incidently having fitted left on charge avoided the urge to switch on. 4 hours later i switched on scooter and started at first turn. Brilliant service from Batterytrader. I spoke to one of the tech guys and he assured me they would fit my ZT500 from Greenpower and they did, the only thing I found a bit awkward was the original leads, as my original batteries were flat across the top of the battery but the new batteries had a raised piece on them which made it awkward to attach the leads, apart from that they were a very good price and very quick delivery, I am one very happy customer, thank you Batterytrader.

I have a Green Power Gp500 and got these batteries as a replacement. They fitted in the scooter with no issues. I have since used the scooter and not had any problems so far. I've done a 21-mile trip and still had 2 bars on my battery dashboard, so I'm very happy with this. The staff I spoke with were very helpful and polite. I would definitely recommend this, and when my batteries are due to be replaced, I'll be back.

Extremely impressed with the speedy next-day delivery. Removal of the old battery was awkward due to the battery being in one large heavy unit. The replacement batteries were for single units and were easier to install. The only difference between the batteries was the replacement connection bolts were larger, but spending a few minutes with a round file to enlarge the connectors slightly solved all the problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GP500-RED. ZT500 and BL800 can all be supplied with either AGM or lithium batteries. The Lithium is a single box, the AGM is a set of four. This is a replacement for the AGM.

However, if you have the AGM batteries, you can have the LiFePO4 battery upgrade.

Yes these, and any upgrades we offer are suitable replacements for them.

The price on the page is for four batteries, that’s how many is required for the fitment, they combine to output 48V.

On the Green-Power GP500 Red scooter, first thing to do is lift the seat up, and you will have access to the boot compartment. Inside here, there is usually a mat at the bottom of this boot. Simply peel the mat off, and you will see screws in every corner. Undo these screws, lift up that cover, and the batteries will be inside there.

The lead-type batteries that came with the scooter from the new are low-budget 20ah batteries; we supply 22ah good batteries, so that will give an increased range.

The Lithium batteries we advertise on the page can be run all the way down, which will also increase the range, but they cost quite a bit more.

If you are asking if you can get physically bigger batteries, then no, the next physical size up would be too large to fit in the space provided.
