The Monarch-MM8, sometimes called Monarch-Marvel by the company, has full suspension, allowing it to handle varying terrain easily. Dependable coil springs provide a smooth ride on a variety of surfaces. The Monarch-MM8 Mobility Scooter is an 8 mph mobility scooter designed to meet Class-3 regulations. This means that the Monarch-MM8 can be registered for use on UK public roads. With a battery range of up to 25 miles, it is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an 8mph road-legal mobility scooter.

Looking after your new batteries for Monarch-MM8
Maintaining your new batteries is fairly simple, but depending on who you ask, you may get different advice. Following these few simple tips will help ensure that your new batteries can provide the service that you expect. First, upon delivery and before first use, charge the batteries fully. Because our batteries are dispatched with more or less charge, this may take only ten minutes but could take much longer. Second, and most importantly, charge after every use and never leave them discharged; this is where most damage often occurs. Lastly, if there is a period of four weeks or so when the mobility scooter will not be in use, then of course charge before putting away and recharging every month.

Installation
Installing the batteries may sound scary, but surprisingly it’s actually quite simple; the hardest part will be their weight. You will need to remove the seat; this is usually done with a lever or by rotating it. Then lift off the plastic shroud; underneath, you will see two separate batteries. We suggest taking a photo of how they are connected so you have something to refer back to when connecting up the new ones.

Can you upgrade?
The standard batteries for the Monarch-MM8, often called the Monarch-Marvel, are a pair of 12V, 50Ah AGM batteries. The page offers them; however, we also have upgrades available: GEL and LiFePO4 lithium. Both are worth a look, as they are the same physical size and manufactured to a high standard so that they will last longer between charges.
