The APCRBC105 RBC105 battery module fits several different APC Smart-UPS systems.
These are valve-regulated lead-acid batteries. Quite often referred to as VRLA, they are also AGM. These technologies combine to produce a sealed battery pack that will not leak even if laid on its side, so the pack can be used in a tower or rack-mounted system without fear of spillage and is safe to use in data centres. They are not hazardous and require no maintenance. The expected lifespan in such an installation is between three and five years, depending on load and proper ventilation, which can shorten the life cycle.
The product is recyclable. When it reaches the end of life and needs replacing, please direct it to a suitable recycling centre for processing. As such, they are a very environmentally friendly product.
