The key to a longer battery life and therefore saving money is to keep them charged, charge fully upon receipt and before using for the first time, we would recommend that you charge it as soon as you can after each and every use and if not being used for long periods then top up the charge every eight weeks, do not leave on charge 24/7, charge them then remove, the worst thing you can do is to try to forcefully run the energy down all the way, doing this with sealed lead batteries will shorten its life quite quickly and will most definitely cost you valuable charging options later in its life.
