Maintenance of your new Invacare Orion-Pro batteries
The batteries are maintenance-free and thus do not require daily attention; however, they do require charging. Fully charge your new batteries before the first use if possible and more importantly after every use. Do not allow them to be discharged below 20% capacity, this will go a long way toward allowing the battery to last a long time. If not being used, charge every 4-weeks to slow down the natural self-discharge that will occur.

Invacare Orion-Pro or Metro?
One of the biggest changes Invacare have made to the Orion is that the Pro model requires larger, both physically and ampere-wise batteries. This page is offering replacement batteries for the Orion-Pro and Orion-Pro-Sport which are high quality standard fit 75ah. We can also offer GEL versions and even LiFePo4 lithium versions as an upgrade. If you have the Orion-Metro 3 or 4 then you will need smaller 50ah batteries, a link for this can be found on the alternatives tab.

Installation and user guide
If you visit the downloads tab on this page you will notice we have a selection of documents available for you to download for free. One of these is the user manual which has detailed information on how to change your batteries. They are hidden beneath the seat and are shielded by a plastic shroud. It should be fairly simple to access them and swap them over however they are very heavy because of the lead content so take care when lifting.

Environmentally Friendly
Because they are made primarily of lead, they can be converted into another useful product when they no longer produce the required energy. This is only if you take them to a nearby recycling centre, if you are unsure where this is contact your local council. This will end the product's natural green life and ensure that the environmentally friendly energy source completes its life cycle properly.
