Maintain a full charge and keep your new rechargeable sealed lead acid replacement batteries charged before using them for the first time. It is best to charge the battery right away after every use rather than waiting until it has run flat because doing so will reduce the anticipated lifespan of the cells. The biggest harm is caused when sealed lead acid batteries are allowed to run flat. If the battery is not in use for a prolonged amount of time, charge it every four to five weeks to maintain the cells' functionality.
