The Rk2412 battery box is used on various mobility scooter brands, often with no brand name on the scooter itself. But you will be able to see the shape of the box and other information in the pictures supplied. These boot scooters have been provided via some very prominent retailers.

The box comes apart quite easily; there are eight Philips screws, as seen in one of the pictures accessed from underneath.

The scooter and parts are manufactured in the far east. All of the ones we have changed for clients to date have come with screw-down terminals, as these are hard to find, and even if you did find you might not want to use them compared to our traditional mobility brands, which have a spade terminal.

To overcome this issue, if they have not already been changed over in the past, you can either snip the terminal ends off and replace them with F2 connectors or use the adapters we have listed above in the additions. It might not be the case in your box, but it seems to be a common theme unless it's been changed. The adapters can also be added if required.

Another note with this box is that many of the ones we have changed have swollen batteries. Now it's hard to know whether that has been down to neglect of a proper charging regime or the equipment itself. It's pretty handy with this box that there are four holes at the bottom on each side, and a 10mm bolt slips in easy to push out if stuck.

This package contains two batteries; charge them when they arrive and for the first time. Recharge after each usage. Recharge every six weeks if not used for an extended period.

Recyclable batteries:
When a battery's functional life is complete, many of them are discarded in landfills. This harms the environment by releasing toxins into the soil as the cells break down, which wastes a resource that could be recycled. Your used battery can, fortunately, be recycled at a variety of local recycling centres, a list of which can be found at the bottom of this page under the heading 'recycle.'
