Although the batteries we send will be almost fully charged, the UPS will still need to complete a full service charge once installed. Until this is finished, you will not have the benefit of full runtime protection. Our best advice is to start the system without any load until it is fully charged, if you have the opportunity; it helps reset to a new energy level properly.
Battery life expectancy is between two and five years in this UPS. This is not a set rule, though, and it depends a lot on how it is used. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the device; do not block the vents. Do not allow it to be used as a shelf to put files on, if the batteries overheat it shortens the life span, to get a long battery life you should try to keep the load below 40%, its capable much more but the pay off will be battery life.
The battery cells are constructed from absorbed glass mat technology, or AGM. They are also valve-regulated sealed lead-acid, or VRLA; this is the recommended battery type for this installation. They will not leak if mounted on the side, so they are safe for UPS tower or rack-mountable configurations, with no risk of spillage, in mission-critical applications like a hospital, busy data centre, or home office.
