The batteries provided are high-quality, characterised by their deep-cycle, non-hazardous, and non-spillable nature as sealed lead AGM batteries. Although considered maintenance-free, they require a consistent, healthy charging routine, which can be achieved by following a few straightforward steps. Firstly, it's essential to fully charge them upon receipt and before initial use. Equally crucial is to avoid storing them in a discharged state. After each use, it's recommended to recharge them fully and, ideally, not deplete them below the last 20%. For prolonged storage periods without use, providing a top-up charge every four weeks will help mitigate the natural discharge rate.
You may be thinking that your batteries do not look like the ones on this page, but fear not. The battery boxes that are on your wheelchair are just that, the boxes. The actual batteries are stored within. Replacing them shouldn’t be difficult, but please take care or seek professional advice if required.
