The Sterling S425 is a class-3 which means it can be used on the road, it has LED lights and all-round suspension to ease the bumps you will certainly find with a 150Kg weight capacity (over 23-stone) and a maximum quoted range of 42km (26-miles), this is of course in perfect conditions.
The batteries are quite easy to change first remove the seat, this is done by pushing the seat rotate lever forwards and turn the seat through 45-degrees (quarter turn) flip up the arm rests and push the back of the seat forwards (lift the recline lever) then take hold of the base and the whole seat will lift off. The undo the three knurled bolts, one at front, 2 at rear and you will see the batteries underneath, you may have to unclip the rear light cluster junction terminal if the cable is not long enough, but all very easy, the batteries are heavy so be careful when lifting, just replace one at a time then you will not get the cables confused.
A question that a lot of people ask is about battery care, there are a lot of myths outs there that are not productive, charge fully when the batteries arrive and first use, it will take about 10-charges and use in the device before it will be capable of accepting a full capacity charge. After every use recharge, do not leave on the charger for any longer than required to become fully-charged. It would be better to always keep over 80% energy in the battery, if you regularly let it go under 50% it will certainly shorten the possible useful life.
