When place your order you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged when received, but it is still important to fully charge them before first use, you would not have to do this if it was going in something like a UPS or alarm system as this has its own charging circuit and it will do the job for you, the charger will have LED lights which will indicate whether it is still charging or not, you only need to charge them until they are ready, it probably will not take very long, do not just install and go without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing
While is not something that most will even notice but it will take a number of charges and corresponding use in the device before a full capacity charge is reached, this is a normal part of the conditioning process, once you have used your equipment put the batteries back on charge, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, fully discharging your new batteries will reduce the overall life span and they will need changing earlier, this will cost you money in the long run, it is important to keep a charge in the batteries for long life, so if there is any period of time where they are not being used then charge before hand and top this up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours
These 6-volt batteries are valve regulated and AGM or absorbed glass mat, no need for any liquid as the acid is held within the glass mat, this means they will not spill and not-hazardous so safe for use around the home or portable devices, they are deep cycle which would be required in this sort of application
