These are very hardy and powerful 24-volt tools, not exactly light but that is because it has good workings inside and will last a long time, unlike much of the cordless tools that can be purchased on the high street in this day and age of a throw away society. manufactures would rather you buy a new complete tool but do not explain that the internal components just are not what they used to be so it becomes a false economy, with this in mind perhaps a new battery really is a wise investment as this tool will still be going strong for years to come if its looked after
