These batteries are maintenance free, non-hazardous, valve regulated lead acid AGM batteries which are safe to be mounted on their side and take reasonable abuse like the actual jump starter.

Please charge upon delivery and before first use and if the battery will not be used for 6-weeks or so, top up with charge to slow down the natural discharge of the batteries.
