The battery pack that you receive from us will be almost fully charged, but you should still charge them before first use, however if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains with its own built in charging circuit like a monitor or maybe a alarm system then you do not need to charge it first as the system will do that for you, your charger will indicate to you when it has completed this first charge, it will probably not take very long depending on the charger, the light will generally change to indicate its ready, you may well just want to fit them and use the equipment, but do try not miss this first step, if needed that is, it's worth waiting until the first charge has completed and it may well contribute to over life span
