The battery pack that you receive from us will be almost fully charged, but you should still charge them before first use, if the battery is being fitted in something with its own built in always connected mains supply like an alarm system then you can miss this step as it will do a better job of charging it than you, the charger will have LED lights which will indicate whether it is still charging or not, you only need to charge them until they are ready, probably not very long at all, you might just want to fit them and use, but that would be unwise, unless being fitted in a device as stated above, missing out on charging them first may well shorten overall life expectancy

It's not something that most will even notice but if being used in a portable device it may take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge can be reached, it's all part of the normal conditioning process, once you have used your portable equipment then make sure you put the batteries back on charge afterwards, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, do not go out of your way to try discharge the batteries fully, this will not extend the life of them, quite the contrary, it will reduce life span quite drastically so cost you money in the long run, there may be many reasons for the equipment not be used on a regular basis, if there are protracted periods where this is the case then ensure the batteries are charged before hand and then topped up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours at a time

These 6-volt batteries are valve regulated and AGM or absorbed glass mat, not need for any liquid as the acid is held within the glass mat, this means they will not spill and not-hazardous so safe for use around the home and or portable equipment, they are deep cycle which would be required in this sort of application
