Installing the new batteries in to the UPS is not a difficult job, certainly well within the reach of most people, you can refer to your user manual for the method if required, they are designed to be replaced, the ones we send to you will be almost fully charged but the UPS will still complete a service charge upon installation, you should note that while this is going on the system will of course not be able to offer the full runtime backup time period until it has finished doing this, we know the system is probably urgently being used but if you can its best to run without a load to start so it can complete the job and reset itself to the new energy level

A reasonable life span of batteries is between two to five years, this will be dependant the use your put it to, do not pile books or files on top of it, it needs good ventilation, batteries will get very hot, if the vents are blocked it will get hotter, the hotter it gets the shorter the life, to get a long battery life you should try to keep the load below 40%, if you have added more devices over time this may have crept up, its capable much more but the pay off will be battery life so it's a balancing act
