No doubt the battery LED is flashing on the front panel of your APC Smart-UPS indicating that you need new batteries. It is not a difficult job to change them, just power down the machines attached to your UPS. Then power down the UPS and remove the power. Remove the cover and you will see the batteries. place your new batteries alongside and remove the cables one by one and put them on the new ones so you do not make a mistake and put them back in the UPS attaching the cover. It is probably best to run up the UPS without a load until the batteries are fully charged. It will not take long as the batteries would have been dispatched in an almost fully charged state, you should refer to your owner's manual for full instructions.
