The batteries will be delivered with a very good charge in them, but even so your you will still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time, the period of this initial charge before use need only be until the charger states they are ready, it probably will not take long, while you may well be sorely tempted just to fit them and go without charging it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up in the right way before you start
