So the light is flashing on your APC Smart-UPS telling you it's time to change the battery pack, It's a very easy job, you should of course refer to your manual for instructions but the general way is to disconnect from the power. If your APC Smart-UPS is the power source for your server or another device you will want to power that down first. Once you are happy, pull off the front cover from here you will see a couple of Phillips screws holding the battery door, undo these, and then the connector and slide out the battery pack.

There are four batteries in this set.
Put the module on a desk. You will see that there are two batteries up one way with two others upside down on top, with a grey plastic plate between them and stuck together with a sticker over the joins. Either peel back the sticker or run a sharp knife on either side of the plastic to try to separate them. You can then open it like a book, you will find one side open easier than the other. if you are more comfortable at this point take a quick picture of the cables so you have something to refer to. Take the leads off the batteries on the easy side, then you can take the other side off with ease and replace the two batteries. Then replace the first two and put a piece of tape, or if you peeled the sticker back then use that. It sounds worse than it is. Once it's in front of you it's more straightforward and the whole job will take no more than fifteen minutes.
Then put them back in the UPS, it's as simple as that. It may be wise to run up the UPS without any load to ensure the batteries get a full charge, although they will be pretty much charged when you get them so shouldn't take too long before adding load back again.
This pack is for four batteries for the APC Smart-UPS SC 1500, with code SC1500i which looks like SC15001 written on the reverse. Fitting is quite straightforward, with perhaps basic office equipment, a screwdriver and a pair of pliers, but if in doubt you should obtain the advice of a professional.
