The energy source required for this stairlift to power is a pair of twelve volt, seven-ampere sealed lead batteries. They are absorbed glass mat or AGM, which means they are non-hazardous and non-spillable and safe to be mounted on their side.

Maintenance of Levant stairlift batteries
It is critical to take care of your batteries; if they are not used and cared for properly, they will have a shortened useful life. Fortunately, it is quite simple, and when they are installed in something that charges itself, such as a stairlift, it doesn't leave you with much to do.
To begin, after installing the batteries, allow them to charge until they are completely charged before using them. Second, depending on your stair lift, charging points may be located at the top and bottom, or even all the way down the rail. If not used for five weeks, a top-up charge is recommended.
