At the heart of this machine and what gives it the power to enable it to do its job is an RBC164 battery and once it fulfilled its life, for the machine to keep going, it will require a new one. RBC164 maintenance tips
The expected life span of these types of batteries is 3-5 years, which is consistent with what APC says. A dust-free climate-controlled room would be ideal, but not everyone has one, especially if you're using a small battery pack like this. Instead, try to keep the vents clear; dust often accumulates around them. Also, we would suggest using less than 40% load where possible and running without any load after installation for an extended period to help bed in the new batteries, twenty-four hours would be ideal if you can spare the downtime.

Replacing the battery in this UPS is a little bit more complicated than other machines but with a screwdriver, some patience, and a small amount of knowledge it is most certainly within the capabilities of most. Because the main component of these batteries is lead or Pb, which can be easily converted into another product, they are recyclable. The systems they are designed to fit into typically include energy-saving features that benefit the environment as well.
