This page is for a sealed lead acid, valve-regulated, non-spillable, not-hazardous, GEL 8GU1H battery, manufactured in the USA by East-Penn, the parent company of MK. These features alone being produced by this Marque should be enough but they live up to their reputation and very tough, the battery to be mounted on its side without leaking, which also makes it safe for public transport and air travel.
If you require two, depending on what they are being fitted in then the order can be upgraded above. Please note we also do a version of this battery without handles; this makes the length slightly smaller; the link to them will be in the alternatives tab.
They require zero maintenance apart from a good charging regime if you want to keep them in top condition for as long as possible. We would recommend that upon delivery of the batteries they are given a top up charge until they are full, this will not take long as they will have close to full charge prior to dispatch. The following important takeaway is never to leave them in a discharged state; therefore, charging after every use is essential.
Please note that it will take several charges and uses in your device (as they are GEL, probably up to fifteen) before the MK 8GU1H batteries can reach full capacity; this is very normal.
For installation instructions, we would recommend looking in your manual; however, it is not difficult and shouldn’t take very long.
