The best advice we can give would be to fully charge your new Polaris Quad bike battery when it arrives and first use. At the very least after fitting then give it a good run to ensure the energy used returns to the cells. It will take several uses before it's able to take a full capacity charge. This is normal and part of the conditioning process that all rechargeable batteries will go through.

If there are extended periods that the battery is not being used, perhaps even a whole winter season, then ideally, you should remove the battery from the chassis and recharge it every four weeks. Keeping it off a cold concrete floor in a frost-free area, if you leave it in the chassis then you must be sure that there is nothing draining it down slowly, this could even be a loose connection, so monitor it with a volt meter. There are many trickle chargers out there that state you can just connect and forget, when they are working as should then in theory a great idea and certainly better than not doing anything, but in practice, we hear of many issues, and by the time you realise it’s a new battery so we do not advocate the use of them generally.
