In recent years, there have been many different electrical vehicles available on the market: e-bikes, quads, stand-up and sit-down scooters. Some are road legal, some are not. They generally have one thing in common: they are all powered by batteries.

You will find many 48v and 60v battery packs below built as Valve regulated lead acid or VRLA with advanced Absorbed glass mat technology or AGM. These stable chemistries are the mainstay of electric vehicles; they are reliable and safe. Normally, 12v packs are connected in series to output the required voltage to power the electrical motors of the vehicle.

This kind of sealed battery does not really like being run down too far, so try to keep as much energy in them as you can and regularly recharge them. Never leave them in a discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary. It is far better to recharge your new e-bike and scooter battery after every use rather than allow them sit there. This will have a beneficial effect on your purse strings over time and will extend their longevity.

If you are away from your 48v or 60v electric vehicle for long periods, you should ensure that it is recharged every six weeks to keep the cells in good order.
